I've always heard my friend Emily Weiss talk about Girls On The Run.  I went out to support my best friend's daughter today at the Girls On The Run 5K event in Northern Virginia and all I can say is WOW!  It was pouring rain at times so anyone who knows me will understand that it was a challenge since I don't do anything when it rains.  I was so impressed with these girls and the running they were doing (even in the rain).  I have to admit I had a great time watching C and her friends run the 5K.  I think I'm looking forward to watching it again next year!

Cherie:

WOW really sums it up!! I will always cherish yesterday's event -- and I want to personally thank (1) Donna for being there -- in the rain at 7am -- to capture that moment; and (2) Monqiue for being the all time best running buddy. Y'all are just awesome. And of course, I must applaud the #1 cheering squad!! Who knew shouting in the rain could be so much fun!! Thanks for all of your support. Much love!!!!

Carmen, I am so proud of you for participating in girls on the run. I don't know much about that organization, however I will do my research. Carmen and Cassidy, the two of you are really growing into beautiful young ladies. Can't wait to see the Mazyck family on Saturday.

AuRelia Mauldin:

Go Carmen! Go Carmen! I am so proud of you. Maybe one day we can do a 5k together. The pics are beautiful. Thank you for sharing! xoxo

Although my son went back to school this week, I didn't work at all due to painful kidney stones.  All the men in the house have been caring for me each day.  When my husband and son weren't around there was Beau at my side.  He was there for every moan and and every cry.  He even licked the tears from my hands as I cried because the pain was so awful at times.  I remember the Beau Knows .... commercials and I have to say that my dog Beau truly knows when I'm in need.  Dogs are great companions for people, but my Beau is absolutely the best dog ever!

Sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. It is truly amazing how intuitive dogs can be and what a wonderful comfort they are. Hope you are on the mend. BTW great images as always!

My son returned to school on Monday as a 5th grader.  I just wanted to hug him a little tighter for just a minute longer.  He has grown up to be a fine young boy and I'm truly proud of him.

I see a little Nana in this picture. He is growing up so fast! Very glad I get to watch from the side lines. I'm certain he's going to give us many things to celebrate over the next few years!

Taking these photos today really made me see how much my son has grown up.  It seems like yesterday that he could barely keep up with me.  Today he tells me to look closely at the hair fuzz growing on his lips.  There is a little fuzz there but I did not tell him I could see it.  Gotta love that boy.
